About me

My name is Rimvydas. I am from Lithuania and was born in a small town named Skuodas. My family is not very big; I have one brother which is only ten years old, nevertheless, he is very smart. In Skuodas I started to go to school and at age of eight I started to learn music, moreover, at age of six I sang in a boys choir that I liked very much- that made my parents to decide to let me to the music school.
Later, at age fifteen I received an invitation from the famous lithuanian clarinet professor to study music in the National School of Arts named after M.K.Ciurlionis in the Capital Vilnius, so I continued my studies with him. During the sudies in that school I became a laureate of several republic and international competitions, and I gave concerts too.
After I graduated from the school of Arts I entered to the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. There I continued my studies with the same professor and increased music acivities which includes solo performances with orchestras and chamber music. Also during the studies I joined the Baltic Youth Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra where were playing the musicians from all of the Baltic Sea countires; this project opened me the opportunity to see a lot of countires of the Europe, as well, playing the same music with people from another countries and  performing in the most beautiful Europe halls gave me an experience I could not imagine any time before.
During the last year of my studies in Lithuania I dicided to go to study in the United States; my decision was inspired by the world famous clarinetist from Sweden who teaches in CSUF, so, fortunately, after my successful recording which I sent to the U.S. I was admited. However, it was necessary to take and pass the IELTS exam that stopped me a little because after I took it my score didn't satisfied the requirements, though it was very close. Therefore, I was enrolled in the ALP program, so now I have a great chance to improve my english skills and pass the TOEFL test here.
So, this is how I came to the United States. If not talking too much about the music, I love to read books, spend a lot of time with my friends, aslo watch movies, go to gym, cycling and traveling, as well, when I was younger I used to play football. Time with my family is very special to me too because I can visit them very rarely and usually we use to have a barbecue and a lot of talk. That is what I think I am.
