My scary experience

Like most of people, I have had several scary experiences. One of them, probably the most scary, was when I was sinking in a river. First of all, I am a great lover of water since my early childhood. When our family were going for a swim I always was in euphoria, so my parents were even concerned about my passion for water. Therefore, I had been sinking twice, once at age of 5 and once at 10, but the second one was much more dangerous. In addition, I have learned to swim well when I was at age 11, so at this situation I was not a good swimmer. It happened in a very famous swimming area in the river of my born town. Until now a lot of children use to come there and enjoy swimming. It was a very hot day in summer, and me and my mother decided to go for a swimming. There were a lot of children, and a lot of my friends, too. My mother was enjoying the sun on the grass while I was playing with my friends in the water. There was a stone in the river from which many children were jumping to the water, and around this stone it was quite deep, so when you are jumping from it you should jump as far as possible from it to the bank. Nevertheless, there was no doubt that I will not do that, so I did it several times, but one time and the last one of that day it happened that one girl pushed me and I fell to the water where the bottom of the river was too deep that I could breath while standing. I was all in a panic, I tryed to jump for taking a breath but it was too deep. Therefore, I do not know how much time did it take while I was in a serious trouble, but quite soon one boy, who was a few years older than me, came to me and took me out from that place. A few seconds later I was fine. Everybody was looking at me, but I only remeber my mom's face. She was very scared, but since she new that finaly I am fine, she was very angry on me. Thus, this is one of my scary experiences. To conclude, I would like to say that it is very important to be always cautious during the swimming, because water can be no joke.

The strangest thing I have ever eat

In my entire meal experience, I could not say that I have eaten something really strange. At least I do not remember. Moreover, I am wondering in myself how it can be that I have not eaten something strange... Perhaps I did, but just do not remember. Thus, I will tell a little about one very tasty and special Lithuanian national dish. It is called "cepelinai". Actually, it is so named, because it resembles a Zeppelin airship; however, even it is a german word, it has no relation with german cuisine. So, the ingredients are quite simple: potatoes, pork meat, spices and sauce. Though, the preparation is not that easy. The potatoes should be grated into small pieces and after that the water with starch should be strained out (but only water should be eliminated). Then we should put back the starch and also put some flour. All this mass should be mixed. Next, we should take a farce of pork and depending on taste put into it some spices, onion and peppers; and it should be mixed and made in a small balls. Then we should form a Zeppelin shape from the potatoes' mass (around 10-20 cm long), and at last, find a big pot, fill it with water and put the "Zeppelins" to boil. In addition, it is necessary to be careful not to boil it too much; otherwise, it will lose its shape. This is it! Finally, the dish can be served with sour cream or with mushroom sauce. Therefore, this is a very special Lithuanian dish which makes a great impression for foreign people, too.

Dream Job

                                                               Dream Job

Perhaps everyone has a dream of what work they would like to do in their life. There are plenty of areas and positions of job, however, its finding depends on many aspects. For example, people usually want to get an attractive job and they study hard an appropriate major to achieve that. Although, in many case to have a wish and study hard is not enough. It is very important to have a talent or ability for something, too. Thus, the dream of good job might come true not easily.
Speaking about music, the variety of job is extremely wide. There are several main areas such as pop, soul, R&B(Rhytm and Blues), hip-hop, jazz, classical and many others. Each of them has some specializations in its self, too. For instance, in classical music some musicians specialize them selves to perform only contemporary or only classic (older) style music and the same happens in all kinds of music.  So, the range of music opportunities is incredibly huge.
Going deeper to the classical music, there are few leading types of musicians. One of them is composer who can specialize him or her self to one or more styles. Other is an artist-performer who can develope his career in such ways as a soloist or as an orchestra artist. And the last one of the main types is teacher-theorist who educates all the types of musicians.  The range of music instruments such as piano, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion and many other makes this area even more wide. Finally, the importance of each musician type makes those types work hand by hand, because, otherwise, music would stop being performed. So, these are the main features of the classical music.
To sum it up, it can be said that everyone has his own way to achieve his “Dream Job”.

About me

My name is Rimvydas. I am from Lithuania and was born in a small town named Skuodas. My family is not very big; I have one brother which is only ten years old, nevertheless, he is very smart. In Skuodas I started to go to school and at age of eight I started to learn music, moreover, at age of six I sang in a boys choir that I liked very much- that made my parents to decide to let me to the music school.
Later, at age fifteen I received an invitation from the famous lithuanian clarinet professor to study music in the National School of Arts named after M.K.Ciurlionis in the Capital Vilnius, so I continued my studies with him. During the sudies in that school I became a laureate of several republic and international competitions, and I gave concerts too.
After I graduated from the school of Arts I entered to the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. There I continued my studies with the same professor and increased music acivities which includes solo performances with orchestras and chamber music. Also during the studies I joined the Baltic Youth Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra where were playing the musicians from all of the Baltic Sea countires; this project opened me the opportunity to see a lot of countires of the Europe, as well, playing the same music with people from another countries and  performing in the most beautiful Europe halls gave me an experience I could not imagine any time before.
During the last year of my studies in Lithuania I dicided to go to study in the United States; my decision was inspired by the world famous clarinetist from Sweden who teaches in CSUF, so, fortunately, after my successful recording which I sent to the U.S. I was admited. However, it was necessary to take and pass the IELTS exam that stopped me a little because after I took it my score didn't satisfied the requirements, though it was very close. Therefore, I was enrolled in the ALP program, so now I have a great chance to improve my english skills and pass the TOEFL test here.
So, this is how I came to the United States. If not talking too much about the music, I love to read books, spend a lot of time with my friends, aslo watch movies, go to gym, cycling and traveling, as well, when I was younger I used to play football. Time with my family is very special to me too because I can visit them very rarely and usually we use to have a barbecue and a lot of talk. That is what I think I am.
